Paratrooper Collection

Now on display is an assortment of WWII equipment that would have been used by a US Paratrooper. The items are from the collection of Bristol resident, Gabriel Illes. Mr. Illes is an avid war collector and is part of a reenactment regiment.
The display contains two original WWII Paratrooper helmets, which are very unique due to the attached chip cups. Some of the other items displayed include jump boots, a jacket, and many of the necessities carried by a paratrooper.
This historic collection is on display in the Bristol Public Library’s display case located on the second floor.
